Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer Confirms Josh Ford Broke his Arm
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- On Wednesday's SEC coaches call, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed that Oklahoma State transfer tight end Josh Ford broke his arm during the Crimson Tide's 56-23 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday.

We don't know exactly when Ford broke his arm against the Bulldogs in Starkville, but Ford had his arm smashed between William Sanders and a Mississippi State defensive player in the second quarter. In the fourth quarter, Ford can be spotted on Trae'shawn Brown's touchdown run with a large wrap on his left hand.
"He actually broke his arm in the game on Saturday, had surgery on Sunday," DeBoer told reporters via Zoom. "He's determined to get on the football field. Actually, progressing along fairly well right now. We'll see how the week continues for him."
Ford has one reception for three yards and a touchdown for the Crimson Tide this season, but his prowess on the field came as a blocker. With his status up in the air currently, Alabama will likely turn to Kaleb Edwards, Marshall Pritchett, Danny Lewis Jr., and Jay Lindsey more on Saturday against the Bulldogs.
The SEC availability report will come out on Wednesday night at roughly 7:00 p.m. CT. Ensuing reports will be released on Thursday and Friday around the same time, with a final report released on game day, roughly 90 minutes before kickoff.
No. 6 Alabama will host No. 2 Georgia on Saturday, October 10, inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CT on ABC.
