As we all get ready for the general election in November, now is the time to prepare to make sure you are ready to vote.  Two essential steps are 1) get registered to vote, and 2) if you don’t know if you are registered to vote, you should double-check that now.  Click here to get that information on registering to vote in Alabama with information from the Alabama Secretary of State.

Another important part of voting is being aware of what is required to vote, and that includes identification.  Click here to review the photo Voter ID law that can be found in the Code of Alabama (1975) §17-9-30. If you are like me, you rely on having a driving license for your voting identification.  But, I know first hand that not everyone drives.  My parents, after a certain age, did not drive.  However, they did have an approved ID with the “Valid Alabama Nondriver ID.”  Therefore, for some reason, you do not have any of the listed above forms of identification, you can obtain a free Alabama photo voter ID.  Click here for information on locations and mobile unit locations.
