Former Alabama offensive tackle and NFL veteran DJ Fluker has signed with the Miami Dolphins.

Fluker, 30, is a former first round draft pick. The San Diego Chargers selected him with the 11th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. He has played in 108 NFL games with 96 starts.

He spent the past season with the Baltimore Ravens, starting eight games and appearing in all 16 regular season matchups. He was on the field for 531 offensive snaps and 79 snaps on special teams. He allowed just two sacks, but was penalized nine times, and was given an overall grade of 63.8 by Pro Football Focus

After being selected 11th by the Chargers, Fluker started 59 games for them over four seasons. He also had a brief one year stint with the New York Giants followed by spending two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks before joining the Ravens in 2020.

Fluker played at Alabama from 2009-2012, and after redshirting his first year he started nine games in his first season playing. In his sophomore and junior seasons, Fluker started every game at right tackle en route to back to back national championships. He was named first-team All-SEC and first-team All-American for the 2012 season.

The Dolphins, who are already formidable on the offensive line, add a valuable piece who could compete for a starting spot or serve as a swing tackle injury replacement in Fluker.

For Fluker, he gets another shot in a great situation where he can compete for playing time. With the draft fast approaching, the season is just around the corner and Fluker will have to be on top of his game in order to make a young and talented Dolphins roster.
