The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is a single-seat, twin-engine, stealth tactical fighter aircraft designed for entering and seizing control of enemy airspace.

It's primary job is to establishing complete dominance or to achieve air supremacy! Exciting isn't it? When the F-22 made it's appearance at the 2015 Tuscaloosa Regional Air Show it stood out as a highly maneuverable, powerful, intimidating aircraft. While in the air, the crowd stood on their feet.

I shot a quick video of the F-22 doing a modified version of Pugachev's Cobra maneuver which is described on Wikipedia as,

a dramatic and demanding move in which an airplane flying at a moderate speed suddenly raises the nose momentarily to the vertical position and slightly beyond, before dropping it back to normal flight. It uses potent engine thrust to maintain approximately constant altitude through the entire move. The maneuver supposedly has some use in close range combat, and is an impressive trick to demonstrate an aircraft's pitch control authority, high angle of attack (AOA) stability and engine-versus-inlet compatibility, as well as the pilot's skill. The maneuver is named after the Soviet test pilot Viktor Pugachev.

The aircraft goes straight up into the air and suddenly comes to a stop with its nose aimed toward the heavens. Absolutely amazing the skill and control of both the jet and pilot.
