Deontay Wilder missed out on an opportunity to defend his WBC Heavyweight Title when challenger Alexander Povetkin failed a drug test, but the champ isn't giving up his guaranteed money without a fight.

According to ESPN, Wilder and promoter DiBella Entertainment have filed a lawsuit against Povetkin and Russian promoter Andrey Ryabinsky's World of Boxing for breach of contract and damages in the form of at least $5 million related to the cancellation.

The fight was supposed to happen on May 21 but Povetkin failed the test in the weeks leading up to the bout. Wilder and his camp flew back to the states after the WBC postponed the match and quickly began scheduling the next opponent. That date has now been set and will bring Wilder back to Birmingham to face Chris Arreola on July 16.
