Tired of seeing trash along the roadways near your home or job?  Well, get your neighbors together and get to work in the Community Clean Up Day.

The upcoming community clean up day was a byproduct of community leader Kerri Ash’s desire to organize an Easter egg hunt.  While inspecting an area for ant mounds, she noticed an abundance of trash along the street.  She saw a need for bringing new life into Tuscaloosa neighborhoods.

On Saturday, May 27, groups all over the city are encouraged to clean up various areas of the city from 8a-10a.  Those who are physically unable to work may find other ways to contribute to the cause, from donating tools or vehicles to moving trash to receptacles to making sure those who are doing manual labor are hydrated. In addition, donations are being accepted for glove, trash bags, and track picks.
