President and CEO of Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports Don Staley said, “To say we are excited for this partnership would be an understatement. Partnering with the Atlanta Braves is a landmark achievement for TTS and one that will set the trajectory of our company for years to come.”

The MLB organization will hold a three-day tournament, "Braves Country Battle," from Thursday, April 22 - Saturday, April 24, at county-owned Bowers Park for the opportunity to move on to the "2021 Braves Country Championship" held in the greater Atlanta area.

On Friday night during the tournament, the Braves organization will hold a ceremony, skills competition, and bring in former players for a meet and greet alongside the club's official cheerleaders the Tomahawk Team. The Truist Park crowd-favorite Heavey-Hitters, the official drumline of the Atlanta Braves, will also make the trip to Tuscaloosa for the "Braves Country Battle."

In the same press release, a Braves representative said, “The Atlanta Braves are excited to bring the Braves Country Battles to Tuscaloosa. This youth baseball tournament is focused on providing teams from across Braves Country with a fun competitive, unforgettable tournament experience. The tournament will be operated by ‘17 Tournaments.’”

According to Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports, "All participants of the tournament will receive an Atlanta Braves swag bag and a ticket to see the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park."
