The Alabama Beverage Control Board has called an emergency meeting to discuss the possibility of resuming to-go alcohol sales.

The ABC Board will meet online today (Monday, December 14) to discuss an amendment to the Emergency Rule  20-X-6-.19ER, which would allow curbside alcohol sales.

Restaurants and bars were previously able to sell drinks "to-go" like package stores during March's stay-at-home orders. With the recent alarming surge in confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus within the state, the ABC Board's vote will allow restaurants and bars to sell drinks to customers who do not wish to dine-in.

The ABC Board will meet at 9:30 a.m. today.
