One of the most popular Christmas traditions every year is heading out to find the perfect Christmas tree for you or your family. While there might be more options to choose from in Birmingham, there are plenty of places around Tuscaloosa to find a tree that you'll love.

Whether you're looking for a tree that Clark Griswold would be envious of or trying to keep it more modest with a lower price tag, you'll be able to accomplish just that at one of these Christmas tree locations around Tuscaloosa.

  • Murphy Christmas Tree Farm

This is the only local tree farm near Tuscaloosa and has two locations.

    1. 7209 Mill Way, behind Murphy Place subdivision on Bear Creek Road off Alabama Highway 69 S.

    2. 14442 Preacher Lee Road at mile marker 8 off Alabama Highway 171 in Northport.

The farms open up at 3pm on weekdays, 10am on Saturday, and 12:30pm on Sunday. Closing time is the same everyday: "dark".

For more information, you can call 205-752-0120.

  • Belle Foods on McFarland

The former Bruno's supermarket on McFarland Blvd is located directly across the street from Midtown Village. They are set up directly along the road in the parking lot and have a big selection of trees.

Bonus nugget: This is a great spot to return your tree for recycling after Christmas.

  • Lowe's Home Improvement

Believe it or not, this home improvement store actually carries live trees as well. They might not be as fresh as local farms, but they still carry a nice selection and the prices are pretty affordable.

The store is located off Highway 69 near the I-20/59 interchange. You can get an idea of what they have to offer by visiting their website.

  • Home Depot

Much like Lowe's, Home Depot offers a large selection of real Christmas trees along with the artificial ones you might expect to find. The only store in the area is next to Target off 15th Street.

Home Depot also shows its selection of Christmas trees on their website to help you make a selection and get an idea of prices.

  • P&P Produce

If you like to shop at local businesses, P&P Produce gives you that option. They are located just over the bridge in Northport, only one block off of Lurleen Wallace Boulevard at the corner of 20th Street and 20th Avenue.

The store is open 8am - 5:30pm Monday-Saturday but they do close at 4pm on Wednesdays. During the holidays, they will open for a few hours at 1pm to sell trees on Sundays.

For more information, call them at 205-330-2552.
