Where Can You Find Real, Authentic, Love?
Everwhere you go everyone is looking for love. However, what is the love we all desire and need? If the question of your heart is, "Where can you find real love?" let us share with you some good news. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
To those who believe, Jesus described the scope of God's love. To His disciples, Jesus said "Do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father surely know that you need all these things. However, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:31-33). It is only when we believe we are loved in this way and receive that love that we have the security we need to take the risk of loving others. Have you taken the first step of finding love in the Person and actions of Christ? Have you entrusted yourself to Him? Have you believed the Bible when it says Christ died for you sins?
I must admit that this is the very first starting point. Recognizing your sin and your need of Christ, who came "to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). It is in Christ that we find the love of God, and it is in Him and only Him that we clearly see what it means to love in this love.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). God loves us with that sort of love, and He is the One who calls us not merely to a higher standard but to let Him live His life through us.
