Two Arrested in Winn-Dixie Meat Theft
(AP) A 48-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man have been arrested after stealing over $300 worth of meat from Winn-Dixie.
Doris Rowe and Kenneth Edwards are said to have driven 26 miles to a Winn-Dixie in DeLand, Fla. A store manager saw Rowe stuffing meat and other items in her pants. When the manager attempted to stop her, she hit the manager in the neck, dropping pork ribs, two packs of detergent, and three water filters. She then ran out of the store and into Edwards’ truck.
The two were apprehended in a traffic stop, and both were charged with grand theft and robbery.
