From Tuscaloosa's rhythm to Harlem's heartbeat, Jameel McKanstry's life is a symphony of music, education, and community. This dynamic artist-leader wears many hats, each one woven with threads of his Alabama roots, his steadfast faith, and his boundless love for his sons, Amier and Caden.

Jameel's musical journey began in Tuscaloosa, where his voice found strength and his hands mastered instruments. He cultivated his talent at Florida State University, earning a degree in music education in 2010. Driven by a desire to make a broader impact, he furthered his expertise in entertainment business at Full Sail University and returned to education with a Master's in Educational Theatre from New York University.

Now part of Harlem's vibrant cultural tapestry, Jameel has been shaping young minds as a 14-year veteran teacher with the New York City Department of Education. His classroom is more than a space for learning; it's a stage for dreams. His leadership brought Broadway's magic to his students through the prestigious Broadway Junior Grant, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

Beyond the classroom, Jameel orchestrates opportunities as an Arts Administrator at the Harlem School of the Arts, writes life’s soundtrack as an author, and inspires creativity as Songwriting Lead for Music Unlimited Entertainment. His voice, resonant and meaningful, is also an instrument of remembrance with the Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition.

A multi-instrumentalist and proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Jameel bridges communities through brotherhood and service. Through it all, his faith in God provides a steadfast harmony, guiding him as a widower raising his two sons.

Amid the challenges of grief following the loss of his wife, Summer, Jameel has found healing through music. His forthcoming EP, 'Echoes of My Tears', set for release in 2025, reflects on grief and faith through powerful hymns. The leading single, ''Holy'', released on November 8, 2024, is now available on all music platforms, offering listeners a poignant glimpse into Jameel’s journey of resilience and hope.
