Pastor William McDowell, Sr. is a very active pastor in the local community helping with organizing community drives, revivals and helping churches and our local youth.

Pastor William McDowell, Sr. was born on May 27,1969 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late James and Margaret McDowell. He accepted his call to preach God’s Holy word in 1995. He is now the honorable Pastor of The Liberty Missionary Baptist Church (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) where he has faithfully served from 2005 to present. He is married to Tamia McDowell, and they have four children.

McDowell is a 1987 graduate of Central High School of Tuscaloosa and Shelton State Community College received Associate degree in General Studies. He later went to Selma University and received his Bachelor's of Arts degree. Pastor McDowell is currently enrolled at Birmingham Theological Seminary pursuing Master’s Degree in Bible and Pastoral Counseling.

Rev. McDowell served as president of The Tuscaloosa Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance Tuscaloosa, AL 2010-2012. He served on the finance committee for Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention 2010-2018. Also, he served on the finance committee for Northwest District State Convention 2018-2022. Currently serving as chairman of the Trustee Board for New Antioch Bethlehem District Association (N.A.B.D.), Statistician, Vice-Chairman of Registration and Finance.

In addition, Rev. McDowell serves as chairman of Registration and Finance for Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention, Inc, Vice Chairman of Annuity Board and is an Executive Board Member. Vice President of The Tuscaloosa Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. Also, the assistant director of the Westside Action Community Counsel for the youth summer jobs program. He is chairman of the media ministry for the Pastors Reaching Out in Tuscaloosa Alabama

Under the leadership of Pastor McDowell, Liberty Missionary Baptist Church is an active body of members of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. since 2005.

Rev. McDowell is an anointed pastor, preacher and teacher of the word of God. He is committed to building the kingdom of God by winning souls for Christ. He is married to Tamia McDowell, and they have four children.
