Rev. Kendra Walker-Jacobs, hailing from Phenix City, Alabama, is a woman of remarkable achievements and deep community involvement. Born to the late Will and Rose Walker, she cherishes her family, including her two sons, Cory and Kevin, as well as her grandson, Amari, and granddaughter, Kamryn.
Educationally, Rev. Jacobs pursued her studies at Troy State University, where she laid a solid foundation for her future endeavors. Furthering her academic pursuits, she attended Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio, focusing on the Master of Divinity Program. This educational journey equipped her with the knowledge and spiritual insight necessary for her calling.
Professionally, Rev. Jacobs spent twenty-six fruitful years at Total System Services, a Global Payments Company in Columbus, Georgia, before retiring. Additionally, she is a Licensed Massage Therapist, adding another dimension to her holistic approach to serving others.
In her religious capacity, Rev. Jacobs has left an indelible mark on various congregations. She served for four years as pastor at St. John AME Church in the Wende Community of Hurtsboro, Alabama. Subsequently, she spent a remarkable sixteen years as the servant pastor at Salem Chapel AME Church. Notably, during her tenure at Salem Chapel, she achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first female pastor in the state of Alabama within the AME Church to spearhead the construction of a new church building. Currently, she serves as the pastor of St. Paul AME Church in the Taylorville Community of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, continuing her mission of spiritual leadership and community engagement.
Beyond her religious duties, Rev. Jacobs is deeply involved in various community initiatives. She serves as the Chair of the Alabama NAACP WIN Committee, demonstrating her commitment to social justice and equality. Additionally, she volunteers her time with the Red Cross and holds positions as a board member of the Columbus Wellness Center and chair of the Focus Initiative Nonprofit Prayer Team.
