"I want to make sure that everyone that has lost their child know that I've lost my child and I'm willing to walk the walk with you." -Lolita Richey

In Tuscaloosa, gun violence is a very real issue and families all across the region are being affected.

When asked what she hopes people can take away from this event, Richey said, "I want to reach out to the parents and let them know that. This is a devastating pain that runs so deep within us and I want them to know we need each other."

Richey doesn't want those affected by gun violence to be afraid to reach out and invites those affected to "come out and hurt together."

The Stop The Gun Violence rally will take place Saturday, September 24 at Snow Hinton Park. It is free and open to the public.
