The Poet’s Corner: Poetry for the Soul is hosting a benefit fundraiser for The Croom Foundation on Thursday, December 2, 2021. The event will take place at College Hill located at 600 24th Avenue East Tuscaloosa, AL 35404. The doors will open at 6 pm.

The poets lined up for the event are from in and around the city of Tuscaloosa. They are Kevil Tice, Kerry Stevenson, Maykayla Davis, Tyler Walker, De Marie, Tabatha Jones, Brittney Joiner, and Adrian Kiser. Also, there will be a live band with Derrick James of Fayette on Keys, Bobby Miller of Tuscaloosa on Bass and Murray Rodgers of Birmingham on Drums and will feature Vocalist Tanike Perryman

This is a free event but a donation will be taken up during the event to benefit all of the programs in the Croom Foundation, “Project 180, Girls to Ladies, The ELITE Program, West Alabama ELITE, The College Xperience and Second Chances.” Kevin Croom said that the donations raised will allow them to continue providing equitable opportunities to our students at no cost to them or their families.

The mission of the Croom Foundation “is to provide equitable opportunities to youth and teens in West and Central Alabama through programs centered on Education, Faith, Athletics, Anti-Bullying, Drug Abuse Awareness, Community Service, The Arts, Job Readiness, Counseling, and Mentoring.”
