There’s a Fake News Story About a Shooting in Tuscaloosa Circulating on Social Media
Chances are that you've seen or might soon see a story circulating on social media claiming that a mass shooting took place in Tuscaloosa.
Please be aware that this information is not true. Tuscaloosa Police have issued a statement confirming that this report is indeed a hoax and "not true in any form."
We will not share a link to this story and encourage you to do the same if you see it on social media. In fact, there is concern by Cullman Police that another story of a similar nature could be a virus.
“Just to be clear this is a FALSE news story and appears to be a fake news site as well. This could possibly be a way to get people to click on the link to infect your operating system with a computer virus,” Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry warned via Facebook.
