The Alabama & Global Church Is Messy

God Is Still Working Through His Church—Even in the Mess
In a world where skepticism about the church is rising, and headlines often highlight its flaws, there's a truth we need to reclaim: God is still working through His church.
The church is not a perfect place. If you’ve been hurt, disillusioned, or frustrated by hypocrisy, internal politics, or drama, you’re not alone. As one of the quotes from the post says clearly, “You could point out the hypocrisy, the politics, and the drama, and you’d be spot on.” These words reflect a reality many have experienced. But we must remember imperfection does not equal abandonment.
This Is Still God’s Church
Despite its messiness, the church remains part of God's divine plan. It was God who initiated it, it is God who sustains it, and it is God who continues to work through it. “This is still God’s church,” one of the posts boldly declares—and that should change the way we see it. Rather than discard the church because of its flaws, we are called to see it through God’s eyes: as a vessel of transformation, community, and hope.
A Challenge to Step In, Not Step Away
It’s easy to stand on the sidelines and critique. It’s easy to give up when things get hard. But here’s the challenge: “You can stand on the sidelines, judge from a distance or you can step up and be part of the solution.” God isn’t calling spectators—He’s calling builders, servants, and restorers. He’s inviting you to get involved in what He is doing through His church.
God Works Through Broken Things
Throughout Scripture, God never shied away from using the broken, the messy, and the imperfect. From Peter’s denial to Paul’s persecution, God consistently used flawed individuals to accomplish His perfect will. The same applies to the body of Christ today. “God can still work through messy and broken things,” and that includes people, ministries, and congregations.
Get Involved in the Mission
The church, despite its imperfections, is still God's chosen vehicle for spreading the gospel, serving the community, and discipling believers. The invitation is clear: “Get involved in what God is doing through His church.” Don’t let the mess scare you away. Let it stir you to be part of the healing and renewal.
The Church Is Messy, But God Is Faithful
Let’s be honest—the church is messy. But so are families, workplaces, and every other human institution. The difference is the church belongs to God. And He’s not done with it. That means He’s not done with you either.
So instead of walking away, maybe it’s time to walk in—with grace, humility, and a heart ready to serve. Because God is still at work.
