The Stillman College Tigers played their first home game in Birthright Alumni Hall in October 2015 on Tuesday evening.

According to GoStillman.com, more than 150 fans came out to support the Tigers in their opener, including various local middle school and high school volleyball teams, Stillman athletic teams and members of the administration, including Dr. Cynthia Warrick, president.

Stillman improved in each set. A late error in the first set earned the first home point of the season. All four points in the second set came from Blue Mountain miscues. However, in the third set, Stillman collected its first home kill of the season by Aeraeonna Manuel off the first career assist by Madison Bubel, who was making her Stillman athletics debut. Three plays later, Bubel assisted a kill by Tuscaloosa native Sara Kate Nichols. Tiana Lawrence collected her first career kill in the set, assisted by Grace Fjeldstad.

Taylor Roland led Stillman's defense with five digs, while Khadeja Bryant, Anniston Jones and Lawrence each had four. Bubel and Fjeldstad added three digs apiece.

Blue Mountain (14-2, 2-1 SSAC) was led by Taylor Wright's 14 kills and Skyler Benson had nine. Anna Lucas had 19 assists, eight service aces and eight digs.

Stillman (0-3, 0-3 SSAC) will host Southern States Athletic Conference foe Middle Georgia State University (1-5, 0-3 SSAC) for a 6 p.m. match in Birthright Alumni Hall on Friday. The Tigers will host Brewton-Parker College (0-10, 0-3 SSAC) on Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission for both weekend matches is $7.
