Two women were killed in separate car accidents in Tuscaloosa Friday morning, according to a spokeswoman for the city's police department.

In one accident, a Ford Taurus left the road and struck a power pole in the 700 block of University Boulevard East around 9 a.m. Police said the driver, a 63-year-old woman who has not yet been public identified, was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

That wreck will close Bryant Drive from University Boulevard to Edward Hillard Drive for some time, police said.

In the second accident, a delivery driver was getting out of her vehicle in the 300 block of Fourth Avenue when the truck rolled over and pinned her underneath it.

The victim, a 60-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. She has also not yet been publicly identified by police.
