Crimson Tide star wide receiver, Jaylen Waddle, is set to return to practice this week, just two months after suffering a severe ankle injury against Tennessee, per Matt Zenitz of AL.com.

The Preseason All-American, prior to his injury, had amassed 557 yards and four touchdowns through four games, providing another deadly weapon for the already potent offense.

Whether Waddle will be available for Alabama's national title bout with Ohio State on Jan. 11 is unknown, as Waddle's participation in practice has yet to be seen. The projected first-round draft pick stunned opposing teams with his lightning-fast speed and elite open-field running ability on the offensive end and on special teams. While senior wide receiver DeVonta Smith has gotten all the attention this season, fans may have forgotten just how electric Waddle is.

The Houston native could easily be a first-round pick in this year's upcoming NFL draft, but after missing most of the season he could go the route of many other Tide players recently and return for a senior year. Whatever the plan is for Waddle, he appears to be recovering from what looked like a serious injury extremely well.

Alabama is set to take on an Ohio State team that many thought were pretenders but proved to be otherwise. The Tide will need all the firepower they can get in this matchup, so if Waddle can go next Monday, the Buckeyes will have that much harder of an offense to stop.
