Woman Killed in Predawn Shooting in Tuscaloosa Thursday Morning
Police in Tuscaloosa are investigating a fatal shooting that has left a woman dead Thursday morning.
That was the report from Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, who alerted local media to the killing just before 5 a.m. Thursday.
Sellers said the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the VCU are on the scene of a shooting at Interstate 359 and 15th Street, which is near the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
He said a female is dead, but did not release any other identifying information including the victim's age.
No other details were available before dawn on Thursday.
By the count of the Thread staff, this is the 10th homicide the VCU has investigated in Tuscaloosa County so far this year.
