1 Shot, 1 Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting in Vance Area of Tuscaloosa County Thursday
One person was fatally shot, and another was injured when Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's deputies attempted to serve a warrant Thursday morning.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, alerted local media to the shooting at about 7:15 a.m. Thursday.

He said the VCU is on the scene of a residence on Gladys Drive in Vance, where one person was shot and killed, and the wanted individual was shot and wounded.
Kennedy said deputies were attempting to serve the warrant when the shooting started.
The VCU will investigate the shooting to determine if there was any wrongdoing by law enforcement, and the case will be handled by investigators who are not connected to the sheriff's office.
