Young Teenager Injured in Northport Shooting Friday Afternoon
A 15-year-old is in stable condition after they were reportedly shot in Northport early Friday afternoon.
Keith Carpenter, the assistant chief of the Northport Police Department, told the Thread that officers were called to the 2500 block of 17th Avenue in Northport off Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard on reports of shots fired in the area.

Responding officers found a 15-year-old with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the leg, Carpenter said, and they were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment.
Carpenter said the victim is reportedly in stable condition, and the assailant is believed to have fled the scene.
Northport PD has turned the case over to the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, which investigates all assaults in the county.
UPDATE: On Saturday morning, the VCU said they have made an arrest in this case.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the unit's commander, said investigators found that the shooting stemmed from an argument between several young men, including a few juveniles.
Many of those present had firearms, and a 29-year-old, Jaius Prince, reportedly pulled a gun and fired several shots, wounding the 15-year-old victim and striking a nearby house, which was not affiliated with anyone who was participating.
"Prince was arrested for Assault 1st Degree, Shooting into an Occupied Residence, and committed to jail with bond to be later set by the courts," Kennedy said.
A juvenile was also arrested for having a handgun that they were too young to carry legally, and Kennedy said additional charges will be filed in connection to the Friday afternoon shooting.
