
Driver Injured in Gordo School Bus Crash With 1 Child Riding
School officials in Pickens County say a school bus crash in Gordo Friday morning left a driver hurt, but the only child onboard appears uninjured.
In a Friday afternoon press release, Pickens County Schools Superintendent Shawn McDaniel said one of their buses was involved in an accident at Hannah Circle in Gordo near Highway 159.

McDaniel said police and other first responders got to the scene quickly and found one child and two adults on the bus.
"Fortunately we only have one minor injury (the bus driver)," McDaniel wrote. However, all individuals are going to the hospital for observation."
The cause of the crash in under investigation and McDaniel said the parents of the student who was on board have been notified and arrangements are being made to get him home or back to school.
