15 Families Displaced After Tornado Rips Roof Off Apartments in Eutaw, Alabama
15 families have been displaced after a Tuesday night tornado ripped the roof off an apartment building in Eutaw, Alabama, emergency management officials in Greene County have reported
The tornado passed through Greene County late Tuesday and continued into Hale County, damaging structures in Eutaw and Akron.
Greene County EMA officials said it took the roof off of Sagewood Apartment Complex in Eutaw, impacting 15 families inside. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in the storm's wake.
The families will be housed in a nearby gym for the night until arrangements can be made Wednesday.
Police and media are on the scene, including ABC 33/40's Megan Scarano.
The storms also have reportedly taken power lines down in the area, and the Greene County 911 Center has been knocked offline. Their backup is Sumter County and all emergency calls will roll over to them until services can be restored there.
