BREAKING: One Dead in East Tuscaloosa Homicide; VCU on Scene
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a homicide in the 5500 block of East 20th Avenue, VCU Co-Commander Captain Marty Sellers confirmed Thursday.
One adult male was found dead at the scene. Tuscaloosa Police Department responded alongside the VCU.
The homicide happened near Jug Factory Road in southeast Tuscaloosa.
The VCU investigates deaths outside a hospital setting in Tuscaloosa County. By the count of Thread staff, this is the 12th homicide the unit has investigated in Tuscaloosa County in 2026.
