Fatal Accident On I-359 Causing Delays

Be careful on your morning commute in Tuscaloosa as there has been a major crash on I-359.

According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, this morning there was a major crash around 4:31am at  MP 1 before Exit 1: 35th St in Tuscaloosa. The crash has caused two lanes to be completely shut down just before exit 1.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department said that the accident was fatal. A post that TPD made on social media says that the accident involved a pedestrian and Southbound traffic will be directed to exit onto 15th Street.

You're being asked to seek an alternate route as the scene is expected to be cleared around 7:00 am.
