Homeowners are looking for ways to winterize their homes during this time by dripping their faucets and insulating exposed pipes outdoors.

By now, every store that sells outdoor faucet covers are likely out due to high demand, and homeowners are left in a bind. Did you know there was a cheap, simple DIY method to creating an outdoor faucet cover?

You can create your own so you're home is protected as freezing temperatures come in. To do this, you'll need three household items.

A Sock

A Ziplock or Freezer Bag

A Rubberband or Duct Tape

It's that simple!

Make sure you protect your exposed pipes during this winter weather episode. As reported by the Tuscaloosa Thread, the Townsquare Media Coverage area will feel the impacts of dangerously cold temperatures and wind chill values.

These “very cold temperatures will nudge southward tonight with a layer of above-freezing air a few thousand feet off the ground. This will result in sleet and freezing rain for our area instead of the snow being seen to our north,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
