A $22 million project called the Runway 4/22 Extension will be a boost for our airport.
The 4/22 Extension will add 1,100 feet to the runway. Taxiway, lighting, and electrical improvements are coming too.
Completion of the project will allow the Tuscaloosa Airport to accommodate larger airplanes and set the stage for future growth.
Construction started in May; the expansion project should be complete by the summer of 2027.
