I must admit, even though I was born on the sign of water and it’s there that I feel my best because the albatross and the whales,  they are my brothers....

Wait a minute, I have just quoted a song from Little River Band called Cool Change however, I do love the water.
I realize we are not in the heat or the prime summer months, but that doesn’t mean we can't enjoy some time at the lake in Alabama in the fall.

Someone mentioned to me that they wondered which lake in Alabama is the clearest, and that makes us all think of it as being clean.
So I hopped into action and conducted extensive research, as well as speaking with three prominent fishermen in the state who have spent a considerable amount of time in the water across Alabama.
Amazingly, all three interviewees agreed on the same body of water being the clearest in the state.
Side note, I also consulted with a seasoned real estate broker in the area who knows everything about anything in Alabama.

She also had the same lake at #1.

Lewis Smith Lake in North Alabama

Known for its exceptional water clarity, you can see several feet into the depths of the water.
That certainly shows the level of clarity.
It is a man-made lake constructed by the Alabama Power Company in 1961.
Several experts seem to believe that the rocky shoreline is also a contributing factor to its clarity.
The solid rock limits sediment runoff, contributing to the clear water.
