Alabama Dog Owners: Do Not Feed Your Dogs These Foods
We love our furry friends. The last thing we ever want to do is feed them something that could kill them. We’ve compiled a list of NEVER FEED YOUR DOG FOODS.
-Onions and foods made with onion powder are toxic for your dog. There’s a natural chemical in the onion that can kill your pet. A lot of foods contain onions for flavor. Be alert if you feed your dog any table scraps.
-Grapes and raisins are highly toxic to dogs. You should never feed them to your dog.
-Avocados contain a natural compound called persin. This can make your dog sick and even cause death.
-No mushrooms. Mushrooms may have toxic seasoning items like onions and oils.
-Fried foods have little or no nutritional value for your pooch. Fried food can cause problem’s for your dog’s pancreas.
-Xylitol is a sugar substitute that is common in many foods. While safe for humans, it is highly toxic for dogs. Read labels carefully.
-Chocolate should always be avoided. The reality is that chocolate has caffeine as well as a chemical called Theobromine. These chemicals can be deadly. If your dog ingests chocolate, you should call your vet immediately.
-The caffeine in coffee is not pet friendly. Avoid letting your pet have access to caffeine.
-Stay away from raw eggs. Some dogs love scrambled eggs. There should be no issues with fully cooked eggs.
-Raw meat is not as dangerous as other items we’ve featured here. But don’t replace your pup’s diet with raw meat.
The safest thing for dog owners to do is never feed your pup human food. It is not always easy, but vets say it is the best thing you can do to protect your furry friend.
