Former Alabama Safety Xavier McKinney Makes Second Consecutive NFL Top 100 Appearance with Green Bay Packers

Former Alabama and current Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney joins Bryce Young and Josh Jacobs as former Alabama players to represent their teams in the NFL Top 100, with McKinney being voted as the 70th-best player in the NFL.

The NFL top 100 is voted on by players in the NFL to recognize their top peers in the league. McKinney makes his second consecutive appearance after being named the 30th-best player last season. Despite the drop from 2024, McKinney had the second most tackles in a single season in his career, finishing the 2025-26 campaign with 107 tackles, 10 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. McKinney brings a veteran presence to a Packers secondary that had struggled with safety play before Green Bay signed him in free agency two years ago. Prior to his time with the Packers, McKinney was a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft by the Giants, where he spent four seasons in New York. In his career, McKinney has totaled 474 tackles, 48 pass breakups, 19 interceptions, 7.5 stuffs, 3.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries.

McKinney played three seasons for the Crimson Tide from 2017 to 2019, with his final season in 2019 being his best, accumulating 95 tackles, 5 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions. The Georgia native was named to the All-SEC First Team in 2019 and was named an All-American in his final season.
