Tide Hoops Land Tuscaloosa Native
The transfer portal taketh, and the transfer portal giveth.
Alabama men's basketball has lost three scholarship players so far this offseason to the transfer portal, with Kris Parker, Rylan Griffen, and Davin Cosby all heading to the portal following the Tide's 2024 Final Four run.
While it might pose a concern for Crimson Tide fans, Alabama is also picking up commitments and players in the transfer portal. before the tournament started, Alabama landed a commitment from Pepperdine guard Houston Mallette, who is a high-level scorer and could be a contributing member to Alabama's scoring early.
Now, the Crimson Tide have made another addition, and this one is a homecoming. Chris Youngblood, a 6-foot-4, 218-pound guard, has committed to the Crimson Tide according to reports. He entered the transfer portal from the USF Bulls, where he shot 41.6% from three and averaged 15.3 points per game for the Bulls. He started 32 games for the Bulls last season.
Youngblood was the 2023-24 AAC Player of the Year.
Tide 100.9 is keeping track of the roster additions and subtractions for the 2024-2025 roster. You can view the list of players and coaches here.
