Jalen Hurts Shares His Thoughts Ahead of Super Bowl LIX
NEW ORLEANS- The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are just five days away from competing in Super LIX and playing each other in the Super Bowl for the second time over a three-year span.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts had the chance to talk with media members Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon. Leading the charge for the Eagles since late in the 2020 National Football League season, Hurts has been a player who has seen and experienced a lot in his career.
After suffering a loss in the 2023 Super Bowl, it's a full circle moment that just two year's later, he and the Eagles will rematch the same team they lost to. Many didn't believe that the Eagles would be in this position again in a short period of time, but Hurts knew that his team had the mindset, determination, and motivation to reach the Super Bowl again. "I think every game has its own essence in it. It’s easy to draw back to the last moment we had here [Super Bowl], but every game is equally important and has equal value, so you want to take away as much as you can from all of these games. I think how we’ve been able to evolve throughout the year, grow, get better, and learn from things, the good and bad, I think that’s why we’re here," said Hurts on the mentality it took to reach the Super Bowl again.
Hurts has battled a knee injury since the Divisional Round win against the Los Angeles Rams on Jan. 22. The big question is, is he ready to go on Sunday? And who better to ask than Hurts himself? He stated, "I feel fine, I feel fine, I’ll be ready to go."
This week of preparation is crucial as both teams boast veteran rosters, new additions, and new schemes that have advanced their rosters. Being focused and keeping the right mindset is very important when playing a team like the Chiefs. "I think the main message is to just go out there and focus, and go out there and fight to finish. It’s been a lot of work put in to have these opportunities, and again we just want to take advantage of it," said Hurts in regards to having the right mindset.
The Chiefs' defense is known to be a disturbance and throw many off balance. "Coach Spags has always done a great job. I’ve got a ton of respect for him. They've got great players, a great front seven, and a great defensive backs group that’s very disruptive so it’ll be a great challenge for us," said Hurts when asked about the defensive threat the Chiefs bring.
One thing that the Eagles are successful with is the "tush push," or in the words of Hurts, "the quarterback sneak," which has left many teams wondering why they can't stop it or leaving a defender to be penalized when trying to stop it.
As the week continues with media availability, stay tuned for more updates on Super Bowl LIX coverage.
