Young, a former first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, is fresh off his first primetime victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football, 32-26. Young threw for 329 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers' victory, bringing Carolina back to 2-2 on the young season.

Bryce Young is a former five-star quarterback from Mater Dei High School in California; he committed to Alabama and head coach Nick Saban, signing with the Crimson Tide as a member of the 2020 recruiting class. In 2020, he backed up Mac Jones, another first-round quarterback, throwing for 156 yards and a score. In 2021, Young won the starting quarterback job, exploding onto the scene with 4,872 yards and 47 touchdowns (both a record for single-season stats in Alabama football history), leading the Crimson Tide to an 11-1 regular season record. The Tide defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 41-24 in the SEC Championship, with Young throwing for 421 yards and three touchdowns (adding a fourth touchdown on the ground) in the win over Georgia.

In 2022, Young picked up right where he left off, throwing for 3,328 yards and 32 touchdowns (with four rushing scores), leading the Crimson Tide to a 10-2 regular season record before defeating Kansas State 45-20 in the Sugar Bowl. The Panthers took Young with the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, and he has thrown for 9,559 yards and 58 touchdowns so far in his NFL career.

No. 6 Alabama will host No. 2 Georgia on Saturday, October 10, inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CT on ABC.
