Earlier in the week, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia said that if Vanderbilt played its game on Saturday, the game between Alabama and Vanderbilt "wouldn't be close."

On Friday, Vanderbilt starting running back Sedrick Alexander echoed the words of his quarterback. In an interview with Billy Derrick of Vandy 247, he said, “I feel like we’re going to go dominate down there in Tuscaloosa. I feel like we have the best coaching staff and best players in the country, so I feel like we’re going to do great things.”

Alexander is second on the team in rushing yards behind quarterback Diego Pavia with 243 yards on the ground, but leads the team with four rushing touchdowns. Pavia holds the rushing leader title with 294 yards and is tied for third on the roster with two rushing touchdowns.

Alabama has struggled to stop the run so far this season, and has struggled immensely with mobile quarterbacks (Pavia last season, Jackson Arnold last season, Tommy Castellanos in week one). If Alabama hopes to slow down Vanderbilt, it will start on the defensive side of the ball against a strong rushing attack that the Commodores have.

Alabama and Vanderbilt will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
