Alabama Reaches Eight-Year Low in AP Poll

After a too-close-for-comfort 17-3 win over South Florida, the Crimson Tide dropped three spots to No. 13 in the AP Poll—the lowest ranking for Alabama in eight years.

Alabama received 796 points, nine less than the twelfth-ranked LSU Tigers. Alabama also received no first-place votes. Despite a close win over South Carolina, Georgia stays at No. 1 with 1566 points.

The last time Alabama was ranked outside the Top 10 was September 2015, after the Tide dropped one at Ole Miss 43-37. Alabama would go on to win the national title that year.

While Alabama's season is not over yet, something has to change to get back into the national title conversation.
