It is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Alabama which means it a great time to get prepared. Make a plan, build a kit and be prepared. Our area's primary severe weather season is March through May, with a secondary season in the Fall.

The National Weather Service of Birmingham reminds us all that “Alabama will hold its 10th annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday.” It will take place Friday, February 26, 20201, at 12:01 am and ends on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 12 midnight.

This weekend would be a great time to build your severe weather kit. This Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is “giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain severe weather preparedness items free of state sales tax. Local sales tax may apply.”
