Next week thousands of people will visit the state of Alabama to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March of 1965.

With former President George W. Bush and President Barrack Obama expected to make an appearance on Saturday and the reenactment festivities to happen Sunday this weekend will have a lot of must see events.

If you are planning to attend this historic event here are some tips on places to eat and where you can stay and things to do while you are in Alabama.

Currently, there are some hotel options in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Troy, and Birmingham.

Patti Labelle will in concert Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome, in Montgomery.
