Evening Update: Possible Timing Of Tropical Storm Cristobal

We are officially in Hurricane Season, and our attention is placed on the gulf right now with Tropical Storm Cristobal.

Here is what we know at the time of this story:

  • The U.S. Gulf Coast from the Florida panhandle and Texas should be preparing and have the hurricane plans in place.
  • On Sunday morning, there could be a chance to see tropical-storm-force winds in Mobile County.
  • Projected landfall is timing to be around Sunday early evening and could be between Galveston, Texas and Biloxi, Mississippi. This could change over the next few days.

What does that mean for Alabama?

  • South Alabama could expect a good amount of rainfall this weekend into Monday night.
  • For West Alabama, there is an increase in the potential for rain. Currently, we have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for Sunday.  Monday turns to a 50 percent of showers and thunderstorms.  We could see these rain chances be increased over the next few days for Sunday and Monday.
