Stories surrounding SNAP benefits have been all over the place since last week's reveal that Missouri Rep. Rick Brattin sponsored a bill to remove certain foods from purchase with SNAP assistance. Now, one celebrity has thrown herself into the middle of the controversy.


According to Newsday, Gwyneth Paltrow is going to attempt to eat for a week using only $29 worth of groceries. This comes as part of a challenge issued by chef Mario Batali. For some, living off $29 a week is hardly imaginable.  For others, it's a reality.
