Prices grew so high that people in Alabama were going through extreme measures just to avoid the gas pump.

Would you ride a horse to work if it meant you didn't have to visit the gas pump and pay close to $5 a gallon? What about the grocery store?

There was someone in Alabama who decided to ride a horse to Dollar General instead of using a vehicle and I can't blame them.

Much more efficient.

According to AAA, Tuscaloosa County has some of the cheapest gas in West Alabama as of September 14th, 2022.

Gas was as low as $2.87 at the Circle K on McFarland.

Perry, Greene, Sumter, and Lamar counties have some of the highest average gas prices in West Alabama.

According to AAA, Perry county's average gas price is $3.599 per gallon. They also show that the current acerage price for a gallon of gas in Alabama is $3.276.

That's 10 cents lower than the day before and close to 30 cents cheaper than the average a month ago in Alabama.

We're still not close to the average from a year ago which was $2.849 per gallon.

Walker, Pickens and Tuscaloosa counties have the lowest averages. Tuscaloosa has the lowest county average price according to AAA.
