Black History Month is a time for recognizing African Americans of the past and present who have helped shape the future and evolution of our country. Alabama is home to many trailblazers who implemented change and paved the way for future generations. It is imperative that we also salute those who are making a difference in our communities.

This year, 92.9 WTUG, Praise 93.3, and 105.1 The Block had the pleasure of honoring local Black artists, leaders, activists and educators. We want to thank our listeners for helping us honor our Alabama natives as we’ve received several nominations from across the state.

This was possible in part by our partnership with Robinson Automotive, the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Phi Lambda Chapter, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Eta Xi Omega Chapter, along with Lanier Automotive, Bryant Bank, and Dixie Motors in Northport.

Please join us next February as we recognize the 2022 Black History Makers of Alabama.
