Do you remember where you were on April 27, 2011?

Were you at home? Work? School?

Regardless of your location, if you were in Tuscaloosa, you know that this day isn't easy to talk about. This was the day that an EF4 tornado ripped through Tuscaloosa.

The storms were so deadly and caused so much damage, that the recovery efforts from the storms made the front page of Sports Illustrated.

During those tragic tornadoes, 53 lives were lost in Tuscaloosa county. Of those 53 people, 6 were University of Alabama students and 1  was an employee of the University of Alabama.

"We continue to grow and we will always remember this tragic day and the lives lost," The University posted in a tribute on its Instagram page honoring the lives lost on that tragic day.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist posted a touching tribute to those we lost in the state of Alabama that day.

Spann's post featured a vocal performance of Amazing Grace with the caption, "On this date eleven years ago, 62 tornadoes killed 252 people in Alabama. Let this be a day of remembrance. We will never forget you."

It's in these times that we see just how selfless, caring and generous Alabamians can be.

No matter how much time passes, we will never forget the people we lost on April 27, 2011, nor the many lives that were forever changed.
