An Alabama-Built Airbus A321 Will Perform Flyover at 2016 Iron Bowl
The first Airbus A321 produced for Delta at the U.S. Airbus Manufacturing Facility in Mobile will fly over Bryant-Denny Stadium before kickoff of the 2016 Iron Bowl on Saturday.
The aircraft is the 15th to come off the production line at the new facility in south Alabama since it opened in September of 2015. It took its first flight earlier this month as it prepares to join the Delta fleet.
The Mobile plant became the first US-based production facility for Airbus last year and they employee nearly 400 people. The vast majority of those are from the state of Alabama or the Gulf Coast region.
Saturday's game between No. 1 Alabama and No. 13 Auburn will kickoff at 2:30 PM on CBS with the flyover expected to happen at 2:16 PM.
