One of Alabama’s many NFL draft prospects has made the decision to return to school for his last year of eligibility.

Redshirt junior outside linebacker Christopher Allen will return in 2021 to play for the Crimson Tide,’s Matt Zenitz reports. The Crimson Tide now most likely return both starting outside linebackers barring any unforeseen circumstances with All-SEC freshman Will Anderson.

The tandem will return to a pass rushing corps that consists of former five stars Chris Braswell and Drew Sanders, Alabama high school standout Quandarrius Robinson, and incoming five-star recruit Dallas Turner.

The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native was a Second Team All-SEC Selection for the 2020 season. Allen recorded at least one tackle for a loss in all but two games and ended up leading the SEC in that statistic. He was also third on the team in sacks with six, and fourth in quarterback hurries.

Allen’s name doesn’t show up in the first round mock drafts of many prominent draft analysts, and had he declared, was considered a second to third day pick. His decision to come back could very well help him improve his draft stock for the 2022 draft.
