Alberta School Hosts April 27 Commemoration Event

Thursday, April 30, the Alberta School of the Performing Arts will host "Beautiful Things Come from Our Brokenness."  The location of the event is only befitting, as Alberta Elementary School was destroyed by the April 27, 2011 tornado, clearing the way for the building of the beautiful new Alberta School.

From 6pm to 8pm, attendees will hear storytelling to commemorate the 4-year anniversary of the storm. Meteorologist James Spann and  Kim Cross, author of "What Stands in a Storm," will highlight the things taken from the events of the tornado.

The gathering is free to the public and will be followed by a reception and book-signing, to benefit the Alberta School of Performing Arts.
