Alabama Beats Auburn and Hunger in 2014 Food Drive

The Crimson Tide continues to ROLL with the Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive! This now makes it 4 strong years in-a-row that UA has collected more than AU. Plus, a new milestone was achieved with over 300,000 pounds in collections!

A huge congrats goes out to the amazing staff of student volunteers in their tireless effort to make this a tremendous success again this year. However, the drive wouldn't get far without the generous donation support from the community! Together we get bragging rights for beating Auburn and to help our neighbors in need by stocking the shelves at the West Alabama Food Bank. Roll Tide to that!

2014 Collection Totals

Now in its 21st year, the Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger food drive and the Beat Bama food drive have collected more than 3 million pounds of nonperishable food for needy families in Alabama. This year’s drive ran from Oct. 13 to Nov. 21. UA won for the 10th time.

All food and money collected from the Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger food drive will go to the West Alabama Food Bank. The food bank works with nine counties in West Alabama, serving a population of more than 315,000 residents. The food bank has distributed more than 17 million pounds of food to date.
