We've all heard it said that ignorance of the law is no excuse. So, it's a wonderful idea for those who are knowledgeable of the law to share with those who may not be.

The Weeping Mary Baptist Church will host an event as part of its Community Legal Education Series. Special guests for Wednesday, October 23, will be the City of Tuscaloosa's Public Defenders Office, which will provide information on bail bonds, how to handle traffic stops, and more.

The session is free and open to the public.

Those who have had experience with the justice system may find this information especially interesting, but it is even more important for everyone to gain knowledge of such areas, as it is more valuable to know what to do when need arises rather than try to learn it BECAUSE need has arrived.

In addition, it's wonderful to see Pastor Ricky J. McKinney engage the community in his secular occupation and aid in making sure that perishing because of lack of knowledge isn't because he didn't share what he knows. Kudos to the judge!
